NC Driver's Education

HCA Driver’s Education Information

According to the NCDMV, “Students at least 14½ years old and pursuing a high school diploma or GED can enroll in an approved driver education course provided through North Carolina high schools or a commercial driver education school licensed by the N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles. A birth certificate or passport is required to enroll.”

Private school students in North Carolina can enroll in the driver's education program offered by the school district where their private school is located or in private instruction.

Once students complete thirty hours of classroom instruction and a minimum of six hours behind the wheel with an instructor, they will receive a certificate of completion.  Students should bring this document to Ms. Powers in the Upper School Office to receive an NC Driving Eligibility Certificate.
